COMMITTEES

These are MY drafted thoughts of what the committees should be like. The board has full control and chooses who participates on the committees and it should not be that way.

Committees are vital and needed to keep our Concourse Village Home Healthy. These committees extend the reach of shareholders and boards, by doing certain things or having particular roles, that may not otherwise be done. In the past the board choose the committee members, I am asking that we volunteer for these positions. I think that we can work with 6 months durations at minimune of once a week. This may seem like a huge task but it really isn’t. I think that we need Neighbors of all 6 building to participate. I know that we have lots a neighbors who are knowlegeable in many areas, their participation could be a quick training on their area of expertise. An Accountant could give us guidance on what to look for, a Paralegal, Construction, Computer wiz, I think that if a family has a HS senior or college student who can participate we should consider allowing them and in turn possible credits.

I think that offeriing the posibility of rotating committees rather then allowing familiarity and habitualness to take place is benificial to all. The volunteers are challenged with new objectves, new partners and they are learning about the different day to day aspects needed to run CVI.

Maintenance Committee

The purpose of this Committee is to walk the grounds and buildings, checking for any thing that needs to be addressed by maintenance. We must protect, prevent and presever our home, that means filling cracks on the ground tto prevent rain and snow from making a big problem from a little fix. I expect that we will soon have an up and running computer program where these can be loaded from even a phone. This Committee may need to be divided, we need to keep on top of Vacancies, we need to keep on top of schedualed work being done, by who, when started, finished, we also need to keep on top of over time and the fianancial spending from the maintence department. That may need 2 or 3 committees. The maintence department has increased almost $5 million dollars between 2020 to 2025. Meanwhile our services have naver been as bad.

Financial Committee

The purpose of this Committee is to keep up to date that all monies have proper evidence. If their is a $5,000. deduction for tile glue, the bill with the date, the store, and the number of iteams should be produced and the actual products need to be on site. The Committee will be allowed to make sure that all three match.

The other Committees are, Welcoming committee, Building committee, Afterschool committee, Senior committee, Parking committee, Enviromental committee for water and energy and any that are needed right now and in the future, please share any ideas. 1800cvta@gmail.com or call me Ms Santos 917-678-8495
